Hohner Marine Band 1896 Classic

£32.99

32 Keys available

The Hohner Marine Band 1896 Classic harmonica is the original blues harmonica. Today it is still manufactured in much the same way as when it was first introduced in 1896. Its uniquely authentic sound has defined the role of the harmonica in the blues tradition and made it the benchmark by which all others are judged. The archetypal blues harmonica with the traditional HOHNER tuning. The Marine Band Classic is one of the few Hohner diatonics that is available in a full range of natural and harmonic minor tunings. For low tunings, we  recommend the Hohner Thunderbird, which has been designed from the ground up as a low tuned harmonica, but still has similar tone and feel to the classic Marine Band. Should you wish to replace reed plates on the Marine Band Classic, we recommend upgrading to the Andrew Zajac Marine Band Conversion Kit, which replaces the stock nails with a bolted setup, and makes the process of changing reed plates significantly easier. Original cover design from 1896 ensures the classic blues sound Greatly reduced swelling behaviour through double-coated pear wood comb Reeds: 20 Brass Reed Plates: 0.9mm brass Comb: Pearwood, brown Mouthpiece: pearwood lacquered Cover surface: Stainless steel Made in Germany Check the Key for additional tuning options: Natural Minor & Harmonic Minor  ... 12 Keys available

The Lee Oskar Natural Minor harps have a very bluesy, soulful sound that's perfect for playing MINOR Blues, Rock, Country, Reggae, Pop & Jazz. This fabulous tuning is set up to play MINOR MUSIC easily, without straining the lips, the lungs or the mind! All of the notes and chords that were missing on the Major Diatonic, for playing minor blues, are right there on the Natural Minor. Natural Minors are designed to be played in 2nd Position (cross harp), not 1st Position (straight harp). In 2nd Position, many of the draw notes can be bent and this allows for a much more expressive, fluid style of playing. 2nd Position is a very popular style used by most players for today's music. Seydel Session Steel Natural Minor
Seydel Harmonicas

Seydel Session Steel Natural Minor

£48.99

12 Keys available

The Seydel Session Steel natural minor tuning harmonica is the upgrade to Seydel's successful Session model, and it comes presented with a bold new look and superior technical reliability, excellent playability and a fantastic sound. This is a blues harmonica with corrosion-free stainless steel reeds, ergonomic covers and plastic comb. Seydel's stainless steel reeds provide a bright and powerful sound, and also allow easy bending of notes. Their main advantage, though, is durability - some players have found that the lifespan of these reeds can be up to 5 times that of harps with traditional brass reeds. This is particularly relevant if you're a powerful player who likes to perform frequent overblows. As with all Seydels, air tightness is high, and the cover plate design ensures that the Seydel Session Steel Natural Minor harmonica is friendly to both lips and beards (not something you can say about all harmonicas!). Build quality is also exceptionally high - a legacy both of Seydel's long history and its investment in new technology in the last decade or so. This is the natural minor tuned Session Steel, however you can also get it in Paddy Richter, PowerDraw, PowerBender, Melodic Maker, Circular/Melody King, Country and Harmonica Minor. If you would like any of the other tunings please contact us. We also offer custom tuning such as equal temperament on special order. Ergonomic cover plates made of stainless steel, completely rounded at the mouthpiece ABS comb with recessed German Silver reed plates Rivets and screws made of stainless steel Lips and beard-friendly design Minimal air consumption achieved by fine-cut reed plates, optimised flatness and extremely Small tolerances between reed and reed plate Stainless steel reeds provide the best clear and full sound and response of the 1847 models Up to 5 times longer playing life compared to models with brass reeds Comes with a genuine leather pouch Tuning: natural minor Keys: G to F# ... Suzuki Manji Harmonica (Richter and Natural Minor Tunings)

£63.99

18 Keys available

The Suzuki Manji harmonica combines advanced technology and functional beauty to create a stunning 10 hole diatonic harmonica. This revolutionary Suzuki diatonic harp is named after Mr. Manji Suzuki, who is the company's founder, and, although elderly, is still actively involved in the management of the company. He started Suzuki Music more than 70 years ago, and initially hand built just a single model. Subsequent investment and expansion eventually led to Suzuki becoming one of the world's most respected manufacturers of harmonicas. The Suzuki Manji harmonica is unique in its use of a composite comb, which utilises wood fibres encased in impermeable resin to combine the tone and responsiveness of wood with the resistance to moisture expansion and easy maintenance of plastic. The phosphor bronze reeds are extremely durable and each instrument is built and assembled with incredible attention to detail. This is evident in its extremely high level of airtightness and the fine tolerances of reed and slot alignment. Consequently, the Suzuki Manji harmonica plays, out of the box, as well as many custom harps, and has an ability to combine power with finesse that few other harmonicas, even at significantly higher price points, are able to achieve. The Suzuki Manji Harmonica is available in the full range of standard major keys plus low tunings. For players wishing to purchase the three most popular keys - C, G and A, a multi-pack is available here, which offers a discount when compared with buying these keys individually. Country, harmonic minor and seventh tunings are also available - please contact us direct to order these. Warning: It has come to our attention that counterfeit Suzuki Harmonicas are being offered for sale through overseas sellers. Please do not fall victim to these illegal sellers of Suzuki Harmonicas. All our Suzuki range have been purchased directly from the official Suzuki distributors. ... Read more
