The new standard in harp microphones

The Hohner Harpblaster microphone is modelled after the sound of legendary vintage harp microphones and with the help of professional players, HOHNER and sE Electronics have created the HB52 Harp Blaster, a dynamic harmonica microphone.

Boutique features such as the Bourns® potentiometer and the gold plated XLR connector and state of the art manufacturing make it the new standard in harmonica microphones.

About sE Electronics

After studying Western Composition at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and moving on to become a successful conductor, composer, and bassoon player, Mr. Siwei Zou was invited to California State University as a visiting scholar in their music department.

During his first years in San Francisco, his contacts in Shanghai would send him newly-developed microphones with which to record. Though he was impressed with the performance of these models, he was unhappy with their machining and design, and began suggesting changes. At this point, sE began to take shape as a business.

In the company's infancy, all sE microphones were produced by the same large-scale manufacturing facilities that still produce mics for dozens of brands known around the world. However, Siwei felt the need for a higher standard of quality and artistic control over his mics, and in 2003 the company opened its very own production facility in Shanghai.

Since 2008, the sE factory has been run by Siwei's daughter, who presides over the day-to-day operations of the company and all of its 65 employees, including their team of 12 skilled staff engineers. At this facility, sE manufactures nearly everything that goes into their microphones.

Today, sE Electronics is made up of specialized design, engineering and production teams, and has a global sales and marketing team across Europe and the USA.

The BlowsMeAway Bulletini-VC Harmonica Microphone is "The tiny bullet harmonica mic with the great big tone" that comes with volume control. Blues harp players love bullet-shaped mics, however they can often be too big, heavy and difficult to cup, which is essential for creating a great tone. With the BlowsMeAway Bulletini Harmonica Mic, there's finally a small enough bullet mic with huge tone, thanks to The Heumann Elementtm There have been sub-sized harp mics on the market for years. Some favourite vintage elements - Shure CM and CR's, Shure, Astatic and Brush crystals - don't fit shells much smaller than the traditional "JT30-size" bullets. In order to produce smaller mics, builders resort to using small, inferior elements. Their sound just doesn't measure up to the BlowsMeAway Bulletini Harmonica Microphone. The Bulletini is different, because it uses The Heumann Elementtm. The Heumann Element is a brand new high impedance dynamic element developed specifically for harp players. It is in fact the ONLY element ever developed specifically for harp. It is made from a modern vocal mic element to which I make both mechanical and electrical modifications.  It has big, fat tone with plenty of bass. Ronnie Shellist says it reminds him of a vintage Ceramic element but with more output. So far it makes every small amp it has been tested with, including Kalamazoo, Memphis Mini and the Harp Train 10 sound better than anything else I know. The BlowsMeAway  Bulletini-VC helps beginners and intermediate players alike sound better, nevertheless pro harp players enjoy it too. Just ask Billy Branch, Jon Gindick, Adam Gussow, Deak Harp, Aki Kumar, JJ Milteau, Darrell Nulisch, Charlie Musselwhite, Mickey Raphael, Andy Santana, Ronnie Shellist, Hank Shreve... and the list keeps on growing!
