Product Description

The Suzuki Manji harmonica combines advanced technology and functional beauty to create a stunning 10 hole diatonic harmonica. This revolutionary Suzuki diatonic harp is named after Mr. Manji Suzuki, who is the company's founder, and, although elderly, is still actively involved in the management of the company. He started Suzuki Music more than 70 years ago, and initially hand built just a single model. Subsequent investment and expansion eventually led to Suzuki becoming one of the world's most respected manufacturers of harmonicas.

The Suzuki Manji harmonica is unique in its use of a composite comb, which utilises wood fibres encased in impermeable resin to combine the tone and responsiveness of wood with the resistance to moisture expansion and easy maintenance of plastic. The phosphor bronze reeds are extremely durable and each instrument is built and assembled with incredible attention to detail. This is evident in its extremely high level of airtightness and the fine tolerances of reed and slot alignment. Consequently, the Suzuki Manji harmonica plays, out of the box, as well as many custom harps, and has an ability to combine power with finesse that few other harmonicas, even at significantly higher price points, are able to achieve.

The Suzuki Manji Harmonica is available in the full range of standard major keys plus low tunings. For players wishing to purchase the three most popular keys - C, G and A, a multi-pack is available here, which offers a discount when compared with buying these keys individually. Country, harmonic minor and seventh tunings are also available - please contact us direct to order these.

Warning: It has come to our attention that counterfeit Suzuki Harmonicas are being offered for sale through overseas sellers. Please do not fall victim to these illegal sellers of Suzuki Harmonicas. All our Suzuki range have been purchased directly from the official Suzuki distributors.

The Seydel Session Steel natural minor tuning harmonica is the upgrade to Seydel's successful Session model, and it comes presented with a bold new look and superior technical reliability, excellent playability and a fantastic sound. This is a blues harmonica with corrosion-free stainless steel reeds, ergonomic covers and plastic comb. Seydel's stainless steel reeds provide a bright and powerful sound, and also allow easy bending of notes. Their main advantage, though, is durability - some players have found that the lifespan of these reeds can be up to 5 times that of harps with traditional brass reeds. This is particularly relevant if you're a powerful player who likes to perform frequent overblows. As with all Seydels, air tightness is high, and the cover plate design ensures that the Seydel Session Steel Natural Minor harmonica is friendly to both lips and beards (not something you can say about all harmonicas!). Build quality is also exceptionally high - a legacy both of Seydel's long history and its investment in new technology in the last decade or so. This is the natural minor tuned Session Steel, however you can also get it in Paddy Richter, PowerDraw, PowerBender, Melodic Maker, Circular/Melody King, Country and Harmonica Minor. If you would like any of the other tunings please contact us. We also offer custom tuning such as equal temperament on special order. Seydel Session Steel Harmonica - Circular Tuning

Circular tuning variant: all notes of the scale are arranged "logically" and can be reached by alternately blowing and drawing. Therefore it is possible to play up to 12 different chords. For the same reason, it is not so easy to clearly assign the key in which the harp is labeled in. Please note: hole #1 blow is the lowest note and designates the key of the harp here, although the playable major scale is 5 semitones (or a fourth) higher than the label on the instrument indicates. Depending on which root note you choose, you can very easily play melodies in the eight different 'church keys' = modes (modal scales). This tuning is sometimes also called "Spiral" or "Melody King". Hohner Rocket Harmonica

12 Keys available

The Hohner Rocket represents a new breakthrough in diatonic harmonica design. The ergonomically designed comb has rounded sides and edges for wonderful comfort. Wide open cover plates and channel design enhance projection to ensure maximum loudness. Like the Special 20, the reed plates are recessed, allowing for a perfectly smooth mouthpiece that doesn't snag facial hair. The Rocket allows players to express a powerful, dynamic sound. In essence, the Rocket is a louder, slightly more responsive version of the Special 20, with which it shares many similarities, including an ABS comb and its general architecture. In fact, reed plates and cover plates from the Rocket and Special 20 are interchangeable. The Rocket has the advantage of greater airtightness over the Special 20, which contributes to its responsiveness and volume. In addition to the standard Rocket, there are a Rocket Low, which offers a range of low tuned keys, and a Rocket Amp, whose cover plate design is made specifically for use with microphones. Comb: ABS, Grey Number of holes: 10 Reeds: 20 brass Reed Plates: 0.9mm brass Read Plate Surface: brass Cover Surface: stainless steel Available in 12 keys (G, Ab, A, Bb, B, C, Db, D, Eb, E, F, F#) Comes with a zipper case Made in Germany About Hohner Hohner can trace its history back to the middle of the 19th century, when it started manufacturing harmonicas in Germany. The company has been at the forefront of harmonica design since then, and has introduced many innovations, such as the world's first production chromatic harmonica and the first production harmonica with an ABS comb.... Suzuki SUB30 Harmonica

Suzuki SUB30 Harmonica

£125.99

3 Keys available

The Suzuki Sub30 Harmonica is a normal 10 hole harp, that has 20 reeds: two reeds in each hole (one blow & one draw). The 30 reed Suzuki SUB30 UltraBend harp has an extra Sympathetic Reed in each hole, one tone below the pitch of the lowest note. This reed is normally passive. It only becomes active when the player wants to bend the low note in each hole. (1-6 low & 7-10 draw). On a normal C harp in hole 4, you can get a bent note C# between C and D, but you cannot bend the C note. To bend C, you need a reed lower then C. That is the 3rd Sympathetic Reed of the Suzuki SUB30 UltraBend! In hole 4, this reed is tuned down to a Bb. That means you can now bend the C down to B! The same applies throughout the range. Every single low note in each hole can now be bent down a semitone! It is these 10 extra Sympathetic Reeds which allow you to play fully Chromatically by bending technique alone. This Easy, Soulful New Approach to Chromaticism on the Blues Harp is Addictive! In order to play a chromatic scale on the normal 10 hole harmonica (Below: 10H), you have to use difficult overblow/overdraw techniques, which require harmonicas with very delicate reed setup. The new Suzuki SUB30 UltraBend changes all that! Now you can get a chromatic scale by normal playing using a simple bending technique. With the SUB30 UltraBend, you can easily play phrases and music styles that you gave up on before, because you could not get some notes. The revolutionary new Suzuki SUB30 UltraBend harmonica gives you 18 bends of a semitone or more (instead of the usual 8 on a normal harp)! And these are all stable bends, easy to control at the correct pitch, bend up and down, add vibrato etc - just the same as the bends you're use to already. In addition to its chromatic ability, the SUB30 UltraBend you lots of extra expression on every note. Its fresh new possibilities will bring the creativity flowing out of you. The Same Size as a Normal 10 Hole Harmonica To achieve this compact size, Suzuki designed the major parts from scratch. The upper reed plate for a normal harp has 10 reeds. But using our precision slot cutting and unique reed-welding technology, Suzuki has managed to put 10 reeds in the same space! We also designed a special comb to fit the reed plates, The size of the mouthpiece is exactly the same as normal but the space inside each chamber is wide enough for 3 reeds instead of 2. This design is practical and functional, massively expanding your creative possibilities. With the Suzuki SUB30 UltraBend, Suzuki has created a powerful new tool of expression for the modern harmonica player. 10 holes 20 notes, 3 keys (C,A,D) Chrome plated brass cover Plastic Comb Weight: 70g Size: 104x30x22mm Comes with a plastic case ...
