The comb also features Supaglide lacquer applied to all surfaces, which not only adds an extra barrier to moisture, but also greatly facilitates the playing of rapid licks as the surface is ultra smooth and friction free. The Crossover's temperament is a modern compromise tuning - marginally closer to equal temperament than the Marine Band 1896 or Deluxe. This makes it ideal for single note melody playing, whilst maintaining the ability to play chords. Tolerances between reed and reed plate are exceptionally good on this harp, as is the consistency of reed adjustment, making this feel more like a custom harmonica than an off the shelf model. The Hohner TM132 Reed Plates are designed to fit Hohner's Big River Harp, Blues Harp & Pro Harps. These reed plates are sold in pairs (top and bottom plate). It is always worth having spare reed plates, as fitting them can be done in as little as 5 minutes, and they can return a faulty harp back to full glory at significantly less expense than the price of a complete harmonica. All that is required to change reed plates is a small Phillips screwdriver and a little patience!
